regarding ur ques abt laser being sent to the moon on http://easyntse.googlepages.com/prepare2 , as far as i know, laser was reflected off the surface of the moon to determine the distance of moon from the earth. but of course, there were special reflectors in place. so ur answer is in no way in question. but it wud be nice to have this bit of knowledge too.

Hello,

I was going through the NTSE website you created. Its really excellent one! It caused me to remember my experiences in NTSE last year. I am 2007 NTSE holder & I think I must take the second pledge given there. I am also in Vidyalankar (JEE 2009 appearing) and attended your lecture on NTS interview. (Yeah, I still remember one parent arguing with you people about that chains-on-the-truck question). It really helped me in clearing NTS interview (Of course I motivated more than enough from it... I counted the tunnels, the steps in the interview building, wall colour, floor colour, no. of tubs and fans and so on... I know it really feels weird, but my mentality on that occasion... you might guess it quite well!)

Finally, a few suggestions about it:

Most importantly, do register your website on google and other search engines. I didn't found it anywhere when submitted the search. You cannot expect your website to reach many people unless they see it on search results page.

All the best to you for maintaining this website. keep it up!

thanks for your comments and suggestions Anjor S.H.

He has also mailed me some corrections and suggestions regarding some doubtful answers to some of the physics questions in the website. Those things have been rectified.

Hi Nandan,

First of all congratulations for maintaining such website, which is helping not only to students, but also to the parents, whose children are going to appear for NTSE interview.

My son, Samarth, has cleared the two levels of NTSE Exam and will be appearing for the interview very soon.

Your website has helped me and my son a lot in understanding what kind of questions are asked in NTSE Interview, but, I have one more question here. Where can I find the material for the preparation of NTSE Interview for the students, who are appearing for NTSE Interview (VIIIth standard)?

My name is Jyoti. I am also from IIT Bombay. I did my PhD (1997-2002)in the field of Biochemical Engineering from the Department of Chemical Engineering, IITB.

I appreciate your efforts for creating this website. Very helpful...

hi Nandan,

I truly appereciate ur mentioning of the fact in my blog post... the interview is indeed, not so difficult, and as I have already commented in one of the comments, "SPICES HAVE BEEN ADDED, ITS NOT ENTIRELY GENUINE"

sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings.. my post should entirely be read as a matter of humorous fiction

and a nice effort, nandan, in your blog :)

thank u

thanks a lot everybody!!
it's u ppl who are keeping me motivated to do such things..

@ Jyoti maam
as such, at present, there is no material available for ntse interview guidance, neither for 10th nor for 8th... this site was infact motivated by this fact..

@ Anurag (James)
best of luck for ur interview and i hope u'll remember the pledge!!

@rollicking maniac
hey.. thnx for such a prompt reply!!

What should I wear for interview?
I'm a girl. Can i wear geans?

Nandan Sawant said...

@ pps and all...
Since the question abt clothes to wear is aksed.. let me explain the things in little more details..
In general our perception of interview is like, we need to wear formal clothes and not the t-shirt or geans. But as far as I know abt NTS interview, I see no such restriction. Many students come in formal clothes, but there are also many(both boys and girls) who wear t-shirt/geans etc.. and there is nothing like you won't get selected nor like it creates bad impression or something.
As I already mentioned in the website, there is absolutely no dress-code. Wear what you feel comfortable in, provieded it is not too informal.

on the "Interview Table A" page, it is said that "area of the square of side (a+b) is sum of areas of small 4 squares." It should be 2 squares & 2 rectangles

hey.....wat 2 do fr histry n odr subs???
i mean shud v refer 2 d old sylabus or d new 1???

Nandan Sawant said...

@ aditya
as i mentioned in the website, in interview, overview of history is more important in history than the minuest details of it..
so even if u have new syllabus, overview of history is one and the same..

Karthik said...

dude, please dont give me the blues.
im in 9th and the way u rite scares me.
please, are these kind of questions really asked?

Unknown said...

@ Karthik

There is no need to be scared. Most of the questions come from the usual syllabus. (Only not in the traditional way the are asked...) They just check how you understood the topic in text, rather than mugging it up. The other questions mentioned on website are indeed there in the interviews, but the full interview is obviously not packed with such questions!

Go and try to enjoy the interview as much as you can, and you will never know when you cleared it!

hi
i attended the interview from 8th standard.I don't know if because It was the first year for 8th std, my interview was very very easy, and comfortable. They didn't ask any tough questions at all. i don't know what is the situation with other 8th std students.

And one more thing, in my interview, they put a corn plant or corn fruit whatever you call it , on the table and asked me what it was. The problem was i knew the name of it only in Malayalam, my mother tongue and I had chosen English as the medium to converse. So, there was some funny moments.
I also got almost all my answers in my favourite subject, maths, wrong.

Still i won the scholarship.
so, i think no matter whether we answer questions right or wrong, it is our attitude that is counted in the interview.

Your website is nice.
