NTSE Interviews 2008

Hi all!!

I have started getting mails from u ppl sharing ur experiences of NTSE interviews this year and also many requests that I should disclose them as soon as possible.

So, yes, your wait is over, This thread is specifiaclly for that. Check out the comments in this thread (comments to this post) to read abt ppl's NTSE experinces this year. Also, you can put your own interview experience as a reply to this post. Please do not forget to mention your name, school, city, date and venue of the interview and most importantly whether you are from 8th or 10th std. This will help further analysis.

Some other feedbacks abt NTSE interview experiences this year, which I received before this ,have already been posted on some other thread on this blog. Check Out!!

All the NTSE Interview 2008 Experiences/Feedback, will soon be part of the original site easyntse.googlepages.com aka easyntse.tk aka www.easyntse.co.cc .

It was really great to see some of the questions asked in this year's interviews, which were specifically discussed on this site. It was really heartening to see ppl writing "I owe my scholarship to this site!". These are the feedbacks which make us feel that these efforts paid off!!

Best of Luck for remaining interviews.
Do let us know abt your results which are likely to be declared within one and a half month or so. You are the cream of India. So, we do expect long-term relations with students of EasyNTSE. Keep Visiting the site, keep writing to us, recommending to others. We may also have a Grand Treat once your results are out.

Viel Spass!!

cheers,

How are we exploiting states?
Why does Carbon form so many compounds?
They also asked me why I was not wearing my uniform and i answered what was written in Easy NTSE site. It helped me a lot.

I gave the interview. It was so easy.

There was a pannel of 5 judges. They asked me the questions based on all subjects.

First they asked my favourite subject. And then they asked the questions. It was an interview for only 15 Minutes. Some of the questions:

* They asked my hobby. when I told music, they asked me a question of shastriya sangeet.
* Showed me two pictures. They were based on lever and poolie. The questions was: Which man is using more power?
* Who were India's first PM and President? Who was the first education minister?(Ans.Maulana Abul Kalam Azaad)
* How may states are there in India? Give the names of all.
* What's the meaning of the name of your city?

Etc.

Again, Thanks for the tips.

Regards,

Jyot

subject: Experience of the NTSE interview

message: I attended the NTSE interview for 10th STD in Karnataka recently. So I thought of posting some questions asked to me.

I was asked questions by a panel which consisted of four members. Each interviewer will ask questions related to their topics one after the other.

Coming to the questions....
In maths I was asked to solve an continuous equation
s=x+1/x+
1/x.............upto infinity
then I was asked to find a ratio between the total surfaces area of two cuboids whose dimensions were l,b,h and 2l,2b,2h....

In physics I was asked to draw a cross setions of a prism and trace the path of the light in it and how it emerges out of the prism.I was some asked quesions related to it like why does the light bend? What is Snell's law?

In chemistry I was asked to name different types of chemical bonding and explain one of them. They sometimes ask questions based on our response given to them.I think bonding is very important topic as far as interview of NTSE is concerned.

In biology I was asked about Lamarckism(his postulates and who disproved it) about Darwin . Even here sometimes questions are asked based on your response.

In geography I was asked to distinguish between maps and sketches.

In history and civics (luckily) I was aksed to choose between the two.Since I chose history I was asked about the main features of Mughal rule.

Thats all what I can tell.....

it was easy. they asked me about which subject i liked and i said physics.then they started with pysics with:what is work, p.e,k.e,laws of motion . in chem they asked me about nuclear reactions , big bang theory and about the 5 states of matter(they were very fast). in history the teacher kept saying what i had read in the book about french revolution was wrong and i kept fighting. the bio teacher actually asked me about my fav book harry potter like what happened with a gillyweed to harry and insectivorous plants.
i wasnt asked maths or civics.
geography teacher told me to expain the phsiological features of india.

Hi everyone

i gave my interview on 2nd Aug at ranchi.interview lasted for 10-12minutes. the first combat was with the chemistry prof. when i selected maths as my favouite subject. they suggested not only upto 10th or 12th, you should read all subjects throughout ur life and in a BALANCED way.
the he asked
which element forms the largest no. of compounds after carbon? i didnot knew the answer but i guessed it to be HYDROGEN which was absolutely WRONG. the correct one was PHOSPHORUS. den asked about catenation.
then he passed hischance to maths prof. who was very happy to ask questions to me. she gave me only TWO questions out of which one I made wrong. Dont be in a hurry there.
then HISTORY prof. asked that who is known as NAKED TRUTH? i guessed Mahatma Gandhi which was correct. Then he asked who conferred him this title.I was caned. IT was churchil.
the lady sitting beside him was observing me (she noted the body language of everybody). The geography prof. caned me by asking me to draw the map of Jharkhand and locate BOKARO(the place from where i was), RANCHI(capital) and Lohardaga(a non famous district).
Locate Suvarnarekha river.

Asked me to go out...........

AND now I am waiting for the result.
It is expected to be on NET by 2nd or3rd of September.

I will write here only if I get qualified. My roll no. is 12108062

subject: my interview experience and the discrepancies in the site

message: I am Rijul Saini. I gave class 8 ntse interview in 2008 in Delhi and have become an ntse scholar. When I got my interview date on my letter I was very tense and nervous.
I did not know what all course will come and didn't even know what a real interview feels like. Then I got aware of this site .it gave me some much needed confidence and support. Now on the day of the interview my roll no was the last.

When I finally entered the room to give my interview the first thing that they asked me was whether I was tired or not. I replied that I wasn’t. The judges were very polite and humble. Then they asked me my parents’ name and their jobs. They asked me about my ambitions. Since I told that it was iit then they asked why. They also asked me what stream I will take .I told them electronics and telecommunications. They then switched to asking other questions like what are the service providers in our country. Then they asked me about dhirubhai ambani and how he became a very rich person. They then asked me that what type of fibre is used in the telephone lines. It was optical fibre. Then they asked me the principle behind it. It was total internal reflection. Then the physics expert teacher asked to explain it to the other teachers by drawing the necessary ray diagrams in a way that they could understand. So I told them about light bending and then the critical angle. Then another teacher asked me that from where light enters into our body .it was the eye. Then they me asked me the type of cells inside the eye, where the image is formed and how the message is transmitted to the brain. Then another teacher asked me that whether I was interested in ecomomics. She asked me about what type of a country India is -democratic.she asked me the three organs of the government -executive, legislative and the judiciary. Then she asked me why education was important in a democracy. Then she asked that in our country when do the people feel equal despite there being so many inequalities. Then finally they asked me about where I lived, gave me a biscuit to eat and sent me off.

I would like to say that in your site it is written that the judges would be sitting in four corners of the hall. In my case it was just a room and they were sitting together on side of the room like a panel.

Also the inter view wasn't of 40 minutes as stated in your website it was of maximum 25 minutes.

ntse interview 2008
i am now in 12th std. actually i just wanted to share my interview experience with all aspirants . i gave d interview 4 10th std nd now it only 4 8th but still u may get a bit help.
D panel consisted of 4 members nd a person was there in d room , maybe to observe our body language. As my interview was in the NCERT campus delhi it was very exciting. all d members were very cordial , polite and gentle. the day before my interview serial blasts had rocked ahmedabad. as we were traveling the day before i cud nt see news but cud only read newspaper in the mrng. and i was asked ques related to it. about terrorism . extremism , difference between them about Irish pupils' party.i did nt know the exact ans but it was just lyk a discussion. SO STAY AWARE OF CURRENT HAPPENINGS U MAY NOT KNOW EXACT ANS BUT KNOW SOMETHING ATLEAST. one member asked my general intro nd popped up more ques based on my responses. this was also like a conversation. then the Phy teacher asked some text ques about electricity and magnetism. he asked about electric and magnetic fields but i did not know much about dat , so he told me the answers and explained a bit. then was the bio member. he asked about pollution, how we can know dat d air is polluted , what about dust particles in air , how can we trace them. i was also asked about composition of atmosphere , various spheres i.e. troposphere ionosphere etc , about dispersion of light. at last they showed a figure and asked how can we change the boiling point of water in flask? i said by adding impurity. sir then said that we dont want to impure the sample ,then? then i said that by changing the atmospheric pressure we can do it. this brought a big smile on his face and i was asked to leave. interview ques vary like my frnd was asked about free body diagram . calculus, to IDENTIFY DALS . MASALAS(CLOVE . ELAICHI )ETC. so prepare well, dont take much stress and all the best.
